About

“What is it?”

“Is that a bleeding whale?”

“It looks like one of the tiles in my shower.”

“Is it dandelions?  Missiles launching from a silo in front of a sunset? Is it a scene from The Lorax, a mountain range on Mars, a scrap of dragon skin, or dead trees on a beach?”

It’s whatever you need it to be.

The beauty of abstract work is that it allows every viewer to create his or her own story. As an artist, I don’t feel it’s my job to enforce meaning or interpretation of my work into the minds of the viewer. Instead, each piece is an invitation to engage in a speculative dialogue — with the stranger standing next to you at the festival, or the artist sketching in the corner, or experienced curator running the gallery, or with the quiet and oft-ignored voices within.

Take a moment, rev up the imagination, and tell a story.
